Built on the excellence of the recording microphone, Rode once again redefines the studio microphone with the world's best ribbon microphone, Rode NTR, known as "the world's best ribbon microphone."
We're trying out the very special new RØDE NTR Active Studio Ribbon Microphone – a ribbon mic that isn't like other ribbon microphones. We'll hear it in action on speech, drum overheads, guitar cab, piano and vocals – the NTR sounds fabulous on a range of sources you wouldn't normally consider a ribbon mic for!
NTR is different from any ribbon microphone that was developed in the past. Its different design places the aluminum strip clearly separated into the microphone frame and body, and the surrounding aluminum strip element allows for maximum possible acoustic permeability and reduced resonance. The aluminum strip element itself is designed from scratch and uses a very fine aluminum material, only 1.8 micron thick - one of the thinnest aluminum strips available today. An innovative patented technology is the use of laser-cut aluminum strips, which gives the precise level and accuracy never seen in previous ribbon microphones.
